Our History

Gastronome was created in 2000 by the merger of Synavi and Soparvol

The Terrena group was formed by the merger of two western France co-operatives in January 2000:

• Cana (Coopérative Agricole de la Noëlle d'Ancenis)
• Caval (Coopérative Agricole Vienne Anjou Loire).

Cana and Caval each had a poultry subsidiary, named Soparvol and Synavi respectively. The merger of Soparvol and Synavi formed the Gastronome group.

In 2001, Gastronome increased in size with the acquisition of a majority stake in the bankrupt Bourgoin Group .

In 2008, continuing its strategy for growth, Gastronome acquired the majority of the operations of Unicopa, a co-operative based in Brittany.
